Christmas for a boat-owner

What do you do as the new owner of a boat during a few days at home with your family? You get things ready for the next season. So here is what I did:

  • I bought a new battery charger from eBay
  • I ordered a complete new set of running rigging and did some splicing:

An eye-splice for the topping lift (note the seizing out of seine twine which I learned to make during my time as a tall-ship sailor)

An eye-splice in the new main halyard out of dyneema (it used to be steel-wire)
  • I fixed the sock of the blister and repackaged it

  • I picked up a whole bunch of stuff from the previous owner and stored it in the attic of my grandparents:

Stuff from the previous owner (before organizing everyting neatly into boxes...)

  • I got some really nice presents: A new log/depth-sounder (the Nasa Clipper Duet) and a Fein Multimaster, the must-have tool for every boat owner
